Maureen Shelleau
Combining her love of horses and all animals with her love of art has created many opportunities for Maureen Shelleau in her extensive career path. She is a noted equine artist, animator, art professor and children's book illustrator. She loves creating realistic as well as whimsical cartoon illustrations and has admired many equine authors and illustrators. She has a vast library of horse books collected since childhood. She is also an advocate for animal rights and owns and operates a hobby farm where she rescues horses, dogs, cats, other farm animals and rehabilitates injured or abandoned wildlife for release back into the wild.
Maureen is currently working on the illustrations for upcoming publications in the 'Stepping Up Kindness Series', published by Above The Lead Line Productions. Illustrating and writing children's horse and animal books inspired by her own menagerie of equine companions and pets is truly a passion and a lifelong dream come true!
